Work Where You're Trusted.
Work Where You're Appreciated.
We don’t just fix HVAC and plumbing issues — we restore comfort and calm to our neighbors’ homes. If you take pride in doing things right the first time, you belong on our team.
Tired of too much bureaucracy and corporate feeling companies? So Are We.
Most companies care more about how many houses you hit in a day than whether the job was actually done right. They push you to upsell customers on things they don’t need, rush your work, and leave homeowners confused.
Not us. At Adams Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, we believe in doing honest work. We give you the time to diagnose the problem correctly, explain it in plain English, and fix it permanently — no shortcuts, no pressure, no callbacks.
No Upsell Pressure
We use a repair-first mindset. We don’t force our techs to be high-pressure salespeople. We want you to be the expert in the room. If a repair is the right call, that’s what we recommend — and that’s what you do.
Autonomy & Respect
We hire adults and treat them like adults. No micromanagement. No one breathing down your neck. You get the freedom to use your skills and judgment to help the homeowner, and we back you up.
Customers Who Actually Appreciate You
Our customers call us a “lifesaver.” When you show up in an Adams uniform, you aren’t an annoyance — you are the professional they’ve been waiting for. You leave every house knowing you made a real difference.
What It Feels Like to Work Here
When you work at Adams, you aren’t just a number. You are the person bringing relief to a stressed homeowner. Here is what our customers say about the people in our trucks:
If you want to work somewhere where your customers are genuinely happy to see you, we have an open spot.
Join the Team
We are always looking for skilled trades workers who take pride in their craft. If you are an experienced professional who values honesty, clear communication, and doing the job right the first time, apply below.
Position Overview:
If You Have Been Running the Crew, doing install and repair jobs in HVAC… But Not Getting the Respect — Read This.
You have spent the last five years or more mastering your craft in HVAC repair and installation. You have probably run jobs independently, and you may even be leading a full crew right now. But despite your experience, you might be dealing with long hours, carrying heavy responsibility without any real financial upside, and watching your career growth stall behind corporate politics rather than performance. You are good at what you do, but no one is building a team around you.
At Adams Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, we built this role differently. We are looking for an experienced professional who wants to step into a company without the micromanagement and chaos of a massive corporate entity.
Who We Are
Adams Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is a locally trusted, family-atmosphere company that has been serving West Michigan homeowners since 1976. We are not a massive private equity firm focused purely on sales quotas; we are a team of professionals who believe in doing the job right the first time.
We operate on a few core principles. First, clear communication always beats chaos. Second, leadership should be calm, structured, and professional. Third, good installers deserve real opportunity and respect. Finally, honesty matters—both with our customers and with each other.
When you work here, you will not be dealing with corporate red tape or a “figure it out yourself” mentality. You will be stepping into a structured, steady, and highly supportive environment where your skills are actually valued.
The Role: HVAC Installer With Experience
This role is specifically focused on HVAC installation. You will not be bounced randomly between different departments or expected to handle service calls when you were hired to install. This is your opportunity to focus on what you do best.
As a HVAC Installer, your primary responsibility will be to do residential and light commercial installations from start to finish. You will be expected to set high installation standards, minimize callbacks, and ensure every job is completed cleanly, efficiently, and safely.
It is hands on technical work and there are leadership pathways as we grow. You will also be the face of the company on the job site, communicating clearly and respectfully with homeowners and representing Adams with absolute integrity.
Compensation and Benefits
We believe in rewarding top-tier talent. The starting pay for this full-time position is 25 and between 30 per hour, based entirely on your experience and capabilities.
Because we want our team to be comfortable, well-equipped, and secure, we provide a comprehensive benefits package. You will receive a fully stocked company truck and all necessary specialty tools, backed by a broken tool replacement program.
We also offer excellent health, dental, vision, and life insurance options, alongside a 401(k) plan with company matching. To ensure you have time for your family and yourself, we provide paid holidays and paid sick leave.
Furthermore, we offer performance-based spiffs and incentives. You will be financially rewarded for generating 5-star reviews, bringing in referrals, and maintaining high efficiency and quality on your installs. We also invest heavily in our team through ongoing training opportunities and paid courses designed to help you advance your career.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a true professional. You must have at least five years of dedicated experience in HVAC installation, with a proven track record of running or leading a crew. You must hold an active EPA certification and maintain a clean driving record.
Beyond the technical requirements, we are looking for someone with exceptional professional communication skills and a deep pride in their craftsmanship. You must possess a team-first mentality. While mid-20s to mid-30s is a common age range for this role, we hire strictly based on maturity, skill, and professionalism—not age.
Who This Is Perfect For
This position is tailor-made for the installer who is currently carrying the weight of the crew but not receiving the title or the pay they deserve. It is for the professional who is constantly fixing everyone else’s mistakes and wants to work somewhere where standards actually matter.
If you are looking for long-term stability combined with real career growth, and if you are quietly looking for a better opportunity but aren’t desperate, this is the role for you.
Who This Is NOT For
We are highly protective of our culture. This role is not a fit for drama-driven personalities, blame-shifters, or clock-watchers. We do not hire shortcut installers. We are building long-term leaders, and we expect a high level of integrity from everyone on our team.
Let’s Talk
If you are excellent at what you do, if you want more out of your career without the corporate chaos, and if you want to grow within a company that actually communicates, we want to hear from you.
Apply confidentially today, and let’s discuss how you can lead the crew at Adams Heating, Cooling & Plumbing.
